AMPS was designed and programmed to scale with cores where the limits of performance are dictated by the capabilities of the network. A single instance of AMPS on a 2-socket/16-core server is capable of processing and delivering millions of 1KB messages per second.

The live option on a subscription tells AMPS to treat the subscription as a regular subscription rather than continuing to tail the transaction log once replay is complete.
